“ I rate this restaurant as one of our top 10 faves in ScottsdalePhoenix. No, top 5, maybe top 3. We have probably eaten there more often than any other Arizona restaurant. I dont think we have ever been there when it wasnt busy, even around 8p, which is when we eat, but is later than most people eat in SP. We are happy to have the Persian Rooms busy buzz. The decor is an elegant mix of marble floors, crystal chandeliers, greenery, wood columns, rugs and tapestries, draperies, a grand staircase to upstairs dining and the bar, horse sculptures, etched glass, and Persian motifs. It might sound over the top, but it works. And it might also sound expensive, but its not. We often see families dining there at long tables, which tells you a lot. Although we love to take people there, if its just the two of us we sit at the upstairs bar. The service is always excellent and the wine list offers several bottles of red priced around or below 50, which is our sweetspot for restaurant wine. All of the food looks great as it passes our table but we always order the same thing a starter of their creamy, delicious hummus, sometimes dolmeh, and Chicken Barg Sultani as our main. The Sultani combines chicken barg broiled marinated and skewered chicken breast and koobideh ground seasoned beef and onions, skewered and broiled. The food is not only excellent but also plentiful. We always share one order of the Sultani and we always take enough home for lunch the next day. They are particularly generous with the tasty basmati rice. Because the restaurant is so busy, they must make their rice in something like a concrete mixer truck.
